Silver is another thing that tourists might want to buy here in Phnom Penh. This is because of the quality as well as the design on those silver items. In addition, the prices here are generally quite reasonable.

Rattan Products

The art of rattan weaving brought forth the invention of things such as baskets, mat, or furniture. They are practical as they are light and useful. Though not exclusive in Phnom Penh, you can get these items for a reasonable price here.

Tip1: USD can be used in most transactions, but KHR (Cambodian Riel) are usually used when the price is below USD$1.

Tip2: You might want to take good care of your belongings as there might be pickpockets around!

Tip3: Renting vehicles:

  • Cars

Renting cars for overseas tourist comes with a driver because overseas resident are not allowed to drive by themselves in Cambodia.

  • Motorcycles

Renting motorcycles are possible, but it is not recommended for beginners as the traffic can be quite hectic and some roads can be quite bad.

  • Tuk Tuk

Alternatively, you could get tuk tuks instead. It is a means of transportation in which a two-wheeled carrier will be pulled by a motorcycle in front. It is the preferred way of transportation for many tourists because it is something unique in this part of the world, and it is cheap in comparison. Also, here’s a little tip: you should negotiate the price of the ride with the driver beforehand!
